Still life painted by Chicago artist, Edward G Kelley. Kelley exhibited at the Art Institute in Chicago in the late 50's and 1960's. He painted in several mediums.
This work features a table, a bottle (with what appears to be a lemon inside), and a lemon on the table beside the bottle. It looks to me like someone was dreaming of making limoncello. The background is muted in shades of gray and sage green and the bottle (white) and lemons (yellow) and a delightful pop of color to the center of the canvas. Brown wood frame and linen mat. A lovely piece.
