Pair Mid-Century Niels Moller Model 55 Captain's Chairs with Arms

This beautiful pair of iconic Niels Møller captain's chairs in teak have Danish cord seats and beautifully sculpted teak arms that appear to float off the central frame.  The chairs are in near perfect original condition.  They were clearly rarely used.  The teak is in great condition and shows very little to no wear considering age. The Danish cord seats are structurally sound. A set of captain's chairs is very difficult to find.  You'll rather easily find singles but if you're using them together you'll want a pair with similar patina.  We only have one set in stock. 

Niels Otto Møller founded J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik in Denmark in 1941, a company that has received many awards, including the Danish Furniture Prize in 1974 and 1981. When Moller designed a chair, he would find the materials and then spend years perfecting a design. This strong work ethic is why the overall Møller collection is relatively small for a company that’s been around for more than 70 years.  Moller offer clean and simple designs that utilize the finest materials and expert workmanship.  They are pieces intended to last a lifetime and be passed down to future generations.
